How to write IGNOU PGDT Project - Post Graduate Diploma in Translation

The IGNOU PGDT (Post Graduate Diploma in Translation) project is an important part of the course. Here are some steps to guide you in writing the project:

  1. Identify and formulate research problems: Choose a particular area in which you are interested. Then in consultation with your Guide, select a specific topic for your project work.

  2. Write a good research proposal: The project proposal is an outline of the detailed work to be undertaken. It should include the title of the proposed project, background of the study, literature review, rationale of the study, objectives of the study, hypothesis of the study (if any), and research methodology.

  3. Identify and use appropriate research design: This involves deciding how you will collect and analyze the data.

  4. Conduct scientific investigation in a systematic way: This involves carrying out the research as per the design, collecting the data, and analyzing it.

  5. Write the Project Report/Dissertation/Thesis: The report should be around 100 pages typed in double space and should be in A4 size sheet. It should include the title of the project, name of the candidate, address, enrolment number and year, certificate, acknowledgment, table of contents, introduction, and other relevant sections.

  6. Proofread and edit the assignment: Make sure all the instructions have been followed and all the required information is included.

The last date for online submission of the final Project/Dissertation/Field Work Journals/Internship Reports for IGNOU PGDT (Post Graduate Diploma in Translation) is 30th November 2023.   2. Find a Good Supervisor: A faculty/professor or Academic Counselor of your program/course can be your project supervisor/Project Guide. Select guides who are active professionals in the relevant area of the selected topic.

  3. Prepare Project Proposal Performa & Synopsis for Approval: After selection of your project topic/cause and finalizing your guide/supervisor, prepare project Performa for University approval.

  4. Determine the Project Report/Thesis Length: The size of the project report depends on the nature of the theme of the project you have selected. However, it is desirable that the project report should be around 100 pages typed in double space.

  5. Writing Thesis for your Project: This section will introduce the problem. It should be able to give an idea to the reader what the topic is all about, how did the topic emerge, and what made the researcher take up the topic.

  6. Project Report Formulation: The report should include the title of the project, name of the candidate, address, enrolment number and year, certificate, acknowledgment, table of contents, introduction, and other relevant sections.
